MINNEAPOLIS, December 29 – The Best Buy Children’s Foundation is proud to unveil its 2007 Scholarship Program, which will award more than $2.7 million in scholarships to graduating high school seniors across the U.S. Beginning December 31, 2006, online applications will be accepted at www.bestbuy.com/scholarships, and winners will be announced in early May, 2007.

The National Retail Federation (NRF) Gift Card Survey found that gift card sales will total nearly $25 billion this holiday season, an impressive $6 billion increase over 2005. MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 12, 2006 -- Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE: BBY) today reported net earnings of $150 million, or $0.31 per diluted share, for its fiscal third quarter ended on Nov. 25, 2006. The leading consumer electronics retailer’s net earnings per diluted share increased 11 percent, compared with $0.28 per diluted share for the prior-year third quarter. For the three quarters ended Nov. 25, 2006, the company’s net earnings grew 24 percent to $614 million, or $1.24 per diluted share, versus $496 million, or $0.99 per diluted share, for the same period of the prior fiscal year.
